Brandywine's Susan Fredricks honored for research publication

Penn State Brandywine Associate Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences Susan Fredricks has been honored for her global research, which could improve people's understanding of how individuals make ethical decisions. 

Emerald Literati Network presented Fredricks and her colleagues with the 2013 Highly Commended Paper Award for their research publication, titled "Kinship, culture and ethics in organisations: Exploring implications for internal communication."

Penn State Brandywine adds women's soccer, hires head coach

Penn State Brandywine has added yet another women's sport to its growing roster: soccer. The team will play locally beginning in fall 2014 and will move to an intercollegiate schedule for fall 2015. The campus just recently named Scottish professional trainer Chris Felber to lead the team as head coach.

Brandywine undergrads get hands-on experience with new 3D printer

Clicking the "print" button on a computer at Penn State Brandywine has taken on an entirely new meaning. Sure, students can walk to the nearest computer lab and print out their papers before class, but with the addition of a 3D printer, undergrads now have the ability to design and create three-dimensional objects.

Brandywine soccer takes home PSUAC Championship trophy

The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer squad accomplished something that they haven't done in 24 years. On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Nittany Lions defeated their rivals, Penn State Beaver, and were named the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Champions. This marks the first time Brandywine soccer has won a championship since 1989.  

Three Brandywine professors honored with prestigious appointments

During his visit to Penn State Brandywine at the end of October, Penn State Executive Vice President and Provost Nicholas P. Jones honored three campus professors with prestigious appointments.

Associate Professor of Biology Elizabeth Dudkin and Associate Professor of Physics and Astrophysics Timothy Lawlor were both awarded the three-year Cooper Memorial Faculty Fellowship, effective January 1, 2014, and July 1, 2014, respectively.

Campus community shares favorite excerpts from The Fault in Our Stars

 Penn State Brandywine will host a "Common Hour Common Read" event on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Tomezsko Classroom Building Lounge. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to take part in this lively gathering as campus members share their favorite excerpts from this year's Common Read, The Fault in Our Stars, by reading aloud from the text. Light refreshments will be served.

New Zealand researcher to discuss Indigenous mental health, well-being study

The Penn State Brandywine campus and the local community will have a unique opportunity to hear from New Zealand researcher Lynne Russell, who has conducted studies in various parts of the world. This free event will be held at Penn State Brandywine on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Main Building, room 113. 

Former Brandywine student, team win global aircraft design contest

Someday people may be thanking former Penn State Brandywine student Thuan Nguyen and his team's rescue helicopter design for saving their lives. The recent Penn State graduate and Newtown Square native was a member of a group of Penn State students who won the American Helicopter Society (AHS) International 2013 Student Design Competition.
