Penn State Brandywine to host woodcarving, wildlife art and craft show Nov. 7-8

MEDIA, Pa. — Penn State Brandywine will host the 32nd annual William Rush Woodcarving and Wildlife Art and Craft Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Commons Building gymnasium.

The event will feature hand-carved birds, animals, marine life, wildlife art and more for sale, all created by skilled artists. Door prizes will be awarded every hour, carving demonstrations will be held, and books, tools and supplies will be offered for sale. The price of admission is a $4 donation benefiting the Penn State Brandywine Scholarship Fund. Penn State students with a valid ID and children age 12 and under who are accompanied by an adult will receive free admission.

This year's featured carver is Arleen Zome, an accomplished local carver from Honey Brook. Zome is well known for her whimsical holiday caricatures and will be teaching a carving class each day during the event.

The William Rush Woodcarving Club was established in January 1977 by a small number of woodcarvers and people interested in woodcarving. For more information about the club, please contact John Chacosky at 610-762-0030 or [email protected].
