Teaching through hands-on, family-friendly activities, Penn State Brandywine’s Mark Boudreau recently took part in the American Association for the Advancement of Science meetings in Washington, D.C.
From “honeycombs” made with bright yellow boxes of Bisquick pancake mix and Lipton tea to a “castle” created with boxes of crackers and cereal, Penn State Brandywine students were up to the challenge to design and build structures along a sustainability theme in this year’s Un-Canny Competition.
Highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of two notable women, Brandywine honored sophomore Jemimah Mwaba and Lecturer in Information Sciences and Technology Nannette D’Imperio at its annual Women’s History Month program.
As Penn State University Libraries launches into its third University-wide Libraries Short Stories writing contest, previous Penn State authors’ winning works now have twice the potential to be printed and read across Pennsylvania, with the University Libraries’ installation of new Short Edition story dispensers at five of its Commonwealth Campus libraries.
Creating a “home away from home” atmosphere for students from around the world, Penn State Brandywine’s resident assistants juggle many roles, including college student, counselor, mentor and campus resource.
Choosing from one-, three- or five-minute stories, Penn State Brandywine students can read, interact and share their thoughts with the addition of a new short-story dispenser recently placed in the campus’ Vairo Library.
Student workers are an integral part of campus life at Penn State Brandywine. While gaining valuable skills and experience, they also provide support in critical areas of campus operations, including Student Affairs, tech support, food services and Lion Ambassadors.
