'Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles' April 21

Penn State Laureate Kenneth Womack, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of English and integrative arts at Penn State Altoona, will visit Penn State Brandywine on Monday, April 21, at 6 p.m. to present "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles." Students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to join Womack in room 113 of the Main Building for this interactive, multimedia presentation.

Brandywine undergrads seek medical solutions through organic chemistry research

Penn State Brandywine Interim Director of Academic Affairs and Professor of Chemistry John Tierney is taking learning to a whole new level. Students in his organic chemistry classes aren't only attending lectures and completing homework assignments during the semester. They're taking part in significant research, giving them real-world experience before graduating.

Student returns home from research expedition in Borneo

It was only a few months ago that senior psychology major Megan Draper left her hometown of Springfield to seize an opportunity that few college students get. The Penn State Brandywine student recently traveled to distant areas of the tropical rain forest of Borneo, taking part in a seven-week research journey alongside leading experts.

These words were bestowed by keynote speaker Julie Gallagher upon Penn State Brandywine's Fall 2013 graduating class at the December 20 Commencement Ceremony.   

Campus announces spring speaker lineup

Penn State Brandywine will host its annual Spring Speaker Series beginning in January 2014 with a lineup that includes a Beatles enthusiast, a local Revolutionary War aficionado, a film buff and a local jazz band.

Penn State Brandywine hosts study abroad in China, Italy in 2014

Penn State Brandywine Global Programs invites students to embark on the journey of a lifetime by studying in one of two destinations over spring break 2014: China or Italy. During these weeklong excursions, students will earn credits as award-winning faculty guide them through several courses and cities. Both programs take place March 7 through 15.

Brandywine's Laura Guertin invited to NASA Social

 Besides staying connected to friends and colleagues, being active on social media can have some major perks. Just ask Penn State Brandywine Associate Professor of Earth Sciences Laura Guertin. She is one of only 20 people chosen by NASA to take part in its upcoming NASA Social.

Penn State launches new website for current, prospective adult students

Adults age 25 and older are returning to school in growing numbers. The National Center for Education Statistics projects these enrollments will rise 20 percent to 10.7 million through 2020. Penn State is experiencing the same trend, and in 2012-13, had 30,879 adult students at all Penn State campuses, excluding law, graduate and medical units and study abroad program.

Penn State Brandywine appoints interim director of academic affairs

Professor of Chemistry John Tierney has been appointed interim director of academic affairs (DAA) at Penn State Brandywine, effective January 1, 2014. He will serve in this capacity until a permanent DAA is hired. Current Director of Academic Affairs Paul deGategno will relinquish his administrative duties in the new year and return to teaching, research and service as an English professor at the campus.
