Intent to Graduate Tutorial

Graduation is not automatic, so students must notify the University of their intent to graduate by applying for graduation in LionPATH. To help make the process simple, we’ve included a helpful resource below to guide you every step of the way.

PRO TIPS TO PREPARE FOR GRADUATION

It’s never too early to start preparing for graduation. Taking a few proactive steps now can help you avoid last-minute surprises and ensure you’ve completed all of your degree requirements. Review the tips below to stay on track for the finish line:

  1. Meet with your academic adviser during the fall semester to review your degree audit and confirm your path to graduation.
  2. Apply for graduation in LionPATH. Deadlines are posted in advance and annually at the start of each academic year. Be sure to submit your application on time.
  3. Resolve any deferred grades by working with your instructors to ensure all coursework is finalized and submitted.
  4. Check for and resolve student account holds. You can view any account holds in your Communication Center in LionPATH.
  5. Monitor your Bursar account. Outstanding balances may delay the release of your diploma or official transcript.
