Application Steps for Transfer Students

Please review these helpful steps to understand the Penn State application as a transfer student.

Our application for transfer admission is available in the MyPennState account. This is where you will complete your application and track your status.

Select your intended major, Penn State Brandywine as your campus, and the semester you plan to begin. As a transfer student, you may choose from Brandywine’s four-year degree programs or a major you can start at Brandywine and complete at another Penn State campus. Transfer admission requirements may vary by major. Explore Penn State Majors.

After you have selected your program, campus, and starting term, it is time to submit your application on the MyPennState Portal. Applicants are required to pay a $65 non-refundable application fee via credit card.

Students who request and receive an approved application fee waiver will be able to bypass the payment screen on the application. Please see the fee waiver instructions above.

Transcripts must be sent directly from your prior institution to be considered official. You must submit a transcript from every institution where you attempted coursework.

  • Submit using an electronic transcript service:
    • You can use a service like Parchment, the National Student Clearinghouse, and SCOIR to send us your documents.
  • If your institution requires a mailing address:
    • Our official University mailing address is:
      Penn State Brandywine
      25 Yearsley Mill Road
      106 Main Building
      Media, PA 19063
  • If your institution requires an email address or fax number, please use the following:
    • Email: [email protected]
    • Fax: (610) 892-1320

Some programs have additional application requirements, which will be detailed in your Application Checklist on MyPennState.

Your application status will update in the MyPennState Portal as soon as a decision is available.

Admitted students will receive an Evaluation of Transferable Credits via email. This document explains how your credit from prior institutions transfers to Penn State, and if there are any courses pending an evaluation.

Details on transfer courses pending review, submitting your syllabi for transfer course review, and understanding your Evaluation of Transferable Credits is available on our Transfer Credit Evaluation page.
