Brandywine hosts regional mathematics conference

Penn State Brandywine recently hosted the spring meeting of the Mathematical Association of America’s Eastern Pennsylvania/Delaware section. The April 15 conference included about 125 college and university faculty members, graduate students and undergraduates in mathematics and related fields.

Brandywine faculty collaborate on exhibit for Penn State Pride Month

On April 11, Penn State Brandywine’s Vairo Library hosted an opening for a collaborative exhibit titled “On our own terms: The (in)visibilities of queer x chinese x woman.” The exhibit showcases images and quotes from interviews with individuals living in the United States who identify as LGBTQIA+, Chinese and woman (transgender and non-binary inclusive).

Penn State Brandywine students who have impacted the campus through their service and leadership were honored at an awards banquet on April 17. The annual leadership banquet celebrates the achievements of students who are involved with clubs, student government and campus programs.

Softball seniors shine at Brandywine’s Senior Day

Senior Farrell Everett hit a walk-off double that drove in three runs and earned Brandywine a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Penn State New Kensington on Saturday, April 15. In the second game of the double-header, senior Destiny Brophy delivered a game-ending two-run home run to cement Brandywine’s 8-0 win. Brophy, Everett, and seniors Lianna DeDios and Payton Landis were honored before the start of game one as part of Senior Day.

Penn State releases University-wide survey on sexual misconduct

Penn State Brandywine released today (April 12) the results of a survey of students’ experiences with and attitudes about sexual misconduct. The survey found that nearly 13% of students reported being the victim of at least one instance of non-consensual sexual contact, while about 90% of students indicated they feel safe from sexual harassment or sexual violence on or around the campus. The results are part of a comprehensive University-wide survey conducted last fall.
