Minors and Certificates

Complementary Minors and Certificates

Students who minor in one of the following disciplines find a strong overlap or complement to Communication Arts and Sciences:

Business

A Business minor offers students a chance to explore fundamentals in marketing, management, accounting and other business disciplines while pursuing their passions in other majors. Students who minor in Business build an awareness of the strategic decisions needed to foster success and growth in any marketable field. Whether one’s passion is clothing design, computer programming, architecture, biology or another field, a minor in business will give students tools to develop a successful plan for realizing their career goals.

Civic and Community Engagement

Penn State’s intercollege minor in Civic and Community Engagement uses classroom learning to empower students to serve alongside their communities. The minor uses a balanced program of fieldwork experience and supporting coursework to help Brandywine students integrate democratic principles, awareness of public issues, and understanding of civic purpose into their academic and professional careers.

English

More than ever before, employers in all fields—business, public service, the sciences, and the arts—expect their new hires to be excellent communicators. Penn State’s English minor is a perfect opportunity for students in every major to enhance their four-year degrees with a strong foundation in writing, critical thinking, effective communication, and creativity.

Global and International Studies

The Global and International Studies minor is intended to recognize, for undergraduate students in any major, the completion of an education-abroad program, foreign language competency, and related advanced course work.

(Additional minors and certificate programs are also available.)
