For adult learners, a study abroad component can pose unique challenges. But adult learners — many with full-time jobs, families or both — have found ways to successfully juggle the tasks to make studying abroad a reality.
Meg Wieger finished high school early to pursue her dream of becoming a country music singer. Now, she’s pursuing another dream: earning a college degree and beginning a career in the renewable energy industry. Recently, she visited Ireland to fulfill the study abroad component to her energy and sustainability policy major at Penn State’s World Campus.

The Multicultural Resource Center will host its 26th annual Senior Awards and Faculty/Staff Diversity Recognition Reception from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 6 in Robb Hall in the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The reception is a chance to honor faculty, staff and graduating seniors who have done a phenomenal job at promoting diversity and multiculturalism on campus.
The Provost’s Global Advisory Council hosted its inaugural meeting March 23 on the University Park campus. The council is chaired by Executive Vice President and Provost Nick Jones, with Vice Provost for Global Programs Michael Adewumi serving as the secretary. The council will serve in an advisory capacity to University leadership.
In August 2017, Penn State Brandywine will welcome its first residential students to campus. As move-in day approaches, the campus is preparing for the grand opening of its new residence hall and student union building.
Each bedroom in Orchard Hall will have a small refrigerator and freezer, microwave, wardrobes, desks, chairs and adjustable beds with storage space underneath.
