Community members are invited to join Penn State Brandywine students, faculty and staff on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a morning of family-friendly service activities. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 21, in the Student Union.
Nicole Doyle, who earned her Penn State degree from the Brandywine campus in December, recently started a full-time career that merges her passion for sports and her academic background in human development and family studies.
Cliff Welby (right), a tutor in Brandywine Learning, escorted human development and family studies (HDFS) graduate Karla Pew (left) to Penn State Brandywine’s commencement ceremony, which was held on Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. Pew, who lost her sight in 2006, completed an internship at the Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Philadelphia as part of her HDFS degree. Pew was one of 73 graduates who received diplomas at the campus’ fall commencement ceremony.
Brandywine continued its long tradition of allowing each student a few moments to share thoughts about their college experience and acknowledge those who helped them along the way.
