In Philadelphia, parents and families are seeking a ground-up approach to their child’s education; one where changes are made in response to an individual child’s needs, rather than a top-down approach that could leave them out of the decision-making process.The seeds for this approach are taking root through a collaborative endeavor supported by the Penn State Center Philadelphia, a service of Penn State Outreach.
For students in Penn State Brandywine’s information sciences and technology capstone course this spring, working with real-world clients gave them practical experience in website design as well as project management, client relations and group dynamics.
Of the 89 students recently celebrated at Penn State Brandywine’s spring commencement ceremony, seven earned their degrees in engineering—all of whom gained real-world experience through internships and capstone projects prior to entering the workforce.
