MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine Athletics held its annual awards banquet on May 13 in the Student Union. The 2024-25 academic year kicked off Brandywine’s provisional membership in the NCAA Division III and the United East Conference.
“Tonight is a time for us to recognize our incredible student-athletes and coaches,” said Bobbi Caprice, director of athletics. “This year was a year of a lot of firsts for Brandywine Athletics. Our first United East All-Conference Award winners, our first United East playoff appearance with men’s soccer in the fall, our first rookie of the year and our first conference championship with softball. We have a lot to celebrate.”
More than 70 student-athletes received awards honoring their sportsmanship, grade point average, points scored and more.
Francis Sarpong, a member of the Brandywine men's soccer team, won third-team all conference at the Brandywine Athletics Awards Banquet. He was awarded his certificate by teammate Kyle Reuter.
Ryan Brown (right), a member of the Brandywine baseball team, was given an award for reaching 100 career hits. He was given his award by Head Baseball Coach Vinny Gallo.
April Lewandowski, a pitcher on the Brandywine softball team, won an award for earning 200 career strikeouts. She was given her award by Head Softball Coach Mark Caserta.
Sierra Coleman, a member of the Brandywine women's soccer team, was awarded the COSIDA Academic All-District Award.
Brandywine students were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, an honor society for student-athletes.
