Penn State Brandywine to celebrate Pride Days in April

Penn State Brandywine will hold its annual Pride Days celebration with a series of events throughout the month of April hosted by Student Engagement, Lion Pride and the Center for Social Impact. All events are open to Penn State students, faculty and staff.

Understanding my Identity: Coming Out and Gaining Self-Acceptance PanelApr. 10, noon-1 p.m., Student Union 114-117. The Chancellor’s Commission on LGBTQ+ Equity is sponsoring the panel discussion featuring Brandywine employees and alumni. It will be moderated by Laura Evans, associate teaching professor of human development and family studies.  

On Our Own Terms: The Visibilities and Invisibilities of Queer x Chinese x Woman Exhibition OpeningApr. 11, 7 p.m., Vairo Library. Join University Libraries as it opens a new exhibition curated by Terrie Wong, assistant professor of communication arts and sciences.

What To Do Wednesday: Pronoun Protocol with Rainbow Sand ArtApr. 12, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Student Union Fireside Lounge. Join BEAST and Lion Pride in doing some rainbow sand art while Student Engagement provides information on chosen pronouns and pronoun usage.

Pride Month TriviaApr. 12, 5-6 p.m., Student Union Parsons Hall. Join Student Engagement as it hosts trivia about Pride Month.

Drag Brinner w/ Bev & FriendsApr. 13, 7-8:30 p.m., Student Union 114-117. Lion Pride and Student Engagement welcome back Bev & Friends for a drag brunch-for-dinner event. Come and celebrate Brandywine’s Pride Days with one of our campus’ most popular and requested events.

Rainbow Glow DanceApr. 14, 7 p.m., Student Union 114-117. Join Lion Pride for a colorful dance celebrating Brandywine’s Pride Days.

Saturday Movie: “Bros”Apr. 15, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Student Union Parsons Hall. Student Engagement will host two showings of the movie “Bros.”

Difference Between Gender Identity and Sexual OrientationApr. 26, noon-1 p.m., Student Union 114-117. Student Engagement will be hosting a presentation discussing the difference between gender identity and sexual orientation.
