Penn State Brandywine is kicking off the 2013-2014 academic year with a new campaign that celebrates the campus' recent multi-million dollar renovation project, new academic and athletic programs, global programs, unique internship opportunities and more. The Hello Brandywine Campaign will officially launch on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the new Main Building Student Lounge with remarks from Interim Chancellor George W. Franz, light refreshments and optional tours of the new facilities given by Brandywine Lion Ambassadors.
The campus welcomes neighbors, local businesses, current and prospective students, parents, legislators, donors, friends and the press to attend this ceremonial Ribbon Cutting. To RSVP to the event, contact Debbie Blanton at 610-892-1252 or send an email to [email protected].
The $10 million renovation project, which wrapped up in August, included updates to the Main Building science laboratories and classrooms, the student lounge and staff and academic office suites. The project also features a new walking bridge outside the Main Building and a brand new Campus Bookstore, which is now located in the Commons Building.
"This is a very exciting time for Penn State Brandywine," Franz said. "The campus' new science labs and classrooms, as well as our new biology, psychology and general engineering bachelor's degree programs will not only help us remain competitive in the Philadelphia region, but will provide our current and prospective students with exciting new opportunities right here in Delaware County."
The Hello Brandywine Campaign will launch unofficially with the Get the Scoop Ice Cream Social for the students on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Tomezsko Classroom Building Lounge at 11:30 a.m. Students will enjoy a variety of Berkey Creamery flavors, grab a neon Hello Brandywine T-shirt and mingle and chat with the chancellor in an informal setting.
