Annual Penn State Day festival, 5K run/walk, admissions program Oct. 26

Cooler temperatures have arrived and the fall semester is in full swing. Classes and homework, however, aren't the only things happening at Penn State Brandywine. The campus is bursting with excitement for this year's annual Penn State Day fall festival taking place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This outdoor celebration is free and open to the public and will feature music provided by DJ Gee Q from Ocean City's 103.9 FM, carnival-style food and games for the whole family, including Skee-Ball and battle boats.

High school students considering attending Penn State Brandywine are invited to attend an Admissions Program from 9:45 a.m. to noon in the Tomezsko Classroom Building. Prospective students and their families will learn about the campus' many academic opportunities, get a student-led tour and hear more about the admissions process. To register for the Admissions Program, visit www.admissions.psu.edu or call 610-892-1200 for more information.

Penn State Day will also feature a 5K run (or one-mile walk) on the campus cross country trail. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the run/walk will take place at 10 a.m. All participants are welcome to stick around for Penn State Day.

The pre-registration fee for the 5k run is $25. Participants who sign up the morning of the race will pay $30. Those who wish to participate in the one-mile walk will pay $20. Students with a valid Penn State ID will pay $10 for the 5k run or one-mile walk. All proceeds from the run/walk will benefit Penn State Brandywine student scholarships. You can pre-register for the event. For additional information, contact Alex Pratt at 610-892-1253 or [email protected]
