Reneé Amoore, founder and president of the Amoore Group, Inc., will be the keynote speaker for Penn State Brandywine's annual Spring Commencement. Family, friends, campus community members and supporters will fill the Commons Building gymnasium on Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. to congratulate Brandywine's 2014 graduates.
Amoore, a native of Bryn Mawr, is an award-winning business owner who's not only known in Pennsylvania, but throughout the nation. She is the founder and president of The Amoore Group (TAG), which provides varied services for clients, such as public relations, government relations, healthcare consulting, job creation, education, workplace diversity and health services.
A longtime advocate of cost-effective alternatives to expensive healthcare, Amoore started her career as a registered nurse after being trained at Harlem Hospital School of Nursing.
After earning her bachelor's and master's degrees from Antioch University, Amoore's career shifted focus, as she became the supervisor of a hospital program and vice president and chief operating officer of a social service organization. This ultimately paved the way to her successful creation of The Amoore Group.
Throughout her demanding career, Amoore has remained dedicated to her community, believing in the importance of shaping the local culture. She became the first black person to be elected to the Upper Merion School Board, serving as the board's vice president for several years, and was elected to Pennsylvania's Republican State Committee. A strategist for Fox News and CNN, Amoore often appears on television and radio shows, sharing her knowledge on topics such as the economy, politics and healthcare.
Recently, she published the book "The Elevator of Achievement: Determination Requires a Choice," which talks about how women can become successful in the business world by shaping their attitudes about success, prejudice and equality.
Penn State Brandywine students receiving their diplomas will join the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world, consisting of more than 171,000 members.
