Biography
Dr. Kalpani Dissanayake is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business and Economics at Penn State Brandywine. She brings nearly 15 years of university teaching experience, complemented by prior industry exposure. Before joining Penn State, she served as an Instructor in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
Dr. Dissanayake holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Engineering Management, a Master of Data Analytics with a specialization in Business Analytics, an MBA, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is also recognized as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
At Penn State, Dr. Dissanayake teaches courses in the Project and Supply Chain Management shared degree program as well as the Business degree program. Her research primarily focuses on the application of predictive and prescriptive analytics and statistical tools to enhance supply chain and organizational performance. A secondary area of interest includes small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) management.
