The Brandywine LaunchBox held its annual Youth Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and Startup Day on May 7. More than 60 seventh-grade students from four local middle schools (Haverford Middle School in Havertown, Lionville Middle School in Exton, Northley Middle School in Aston and Upper Merion Middle School in King of Prussia) attended the event to learn about physics, entrepreneurship, robotics and more.
Penn State alumna Jaclyn Domsohn, right, a mechanical engineer at CTDI, works with fellow Penn State alumnus Mo Paknejad, director of engineering at CTDI and a Penn State Brandywine Advisory Board member.
In high school, Jaclyn Domsohn wasn’t sure what to study in college. She knew she enjoyed math and physics, but she hadn’t thought about engineering. That changed after she started taking classes at Penn State Brandywine, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 2021. She is now a mechanical engineer in the Mobility Division of CTDI, a global company in the communications, mobility and consumer devices service industries.
Top-seeded Penn State Brandywine clinched its ninth-straight Penn State University Athletic Conference Softball Championship by besting No. 2 Penn State Mont Alto 8-0 to sweep the best-of-three championship series on May 6 at Nittany Lion Softball Field.
