Penn State Brandywine Black Student League president Monet Bradford and vice president Sherly Rosario met with the League’s founding president, Zawdie Abdul-Malik (nee James Garner). Abdul-Malik helped found the group at Penn State Delaware County (now Brandywine) during the 1968-69 academic year.

Current Penn State Brandywine men’s and women’s basketball players Naifes Smalls, Isaiah Wilmore, Chelsea Dent, Jordan Wright and Kendra Stanford had the opportunity to meet two former basketball players. Barry Reddish played as a freshman on the campus’ first intercollegiate athletic team in 1968-69. Darryl Trent joined Reddish on the team the following year.
