Students must apply to attend this intensive, all-weekend conference that builds leadership skills and forms friendships across campuses.

Students also have the opportunity to attend Penn State’s all-campus Global Engagement and Leadership (GELE) conference at Bald Eagle State Park near State College, PA.

The NYC trip was open to the entire campus community but also linked to Mrs. Brown’s American Studies course (which is part of the Multilingual Student Course Cluster) and Dr. Gallagher’s American History course.

Students visited the Tenement Museum to learn about the immigrant experience in the early 20th century and also toured the 9/11 Museum and Memorial.

Students have also visited the Amish House and Farm in Lancaster to learn about the local Amish community.

Most events sponsored by Multilingual Student Programs are open to the entire campus community, so that all students can share experiences together and get to know each other.

These events are often traditional American experiences that many immigrant and international students have not yet experienced.
