The Nittany Lion welcomes recently accepted members of the Schreyer Honors College Class of 2019. A record number of submissions, more than 3,700, were submitted for the nationally ranked honors program. The final class count of 300 represents only 8 percent of the total number of applicants.
Penn State senior Ramya Gurunathan received a Winston Churchill Scholarship and will attend Cambridge University to pursue an MPhil in Scientific Computing.
During fall semester students nominate academic advisers for the annual Penn State Excellence in Academic Advising Award. Sponsored by the University Advising Council and the Office for Undergraduate Education, the award honors one faculty and one staff adviser who students feel have especially helped them navigate the University’s academic system, planned a fulfilling program of study, considered co-curricular experiences and learned to manage their own educational journey at Penn State.
