Members of Brandywine Benefiting THON and the Nittany Lion attended the autumn dance held for residents of the Fair Acres Geriatric Center.  The students interacted and danced with the residents to make sure they had an enjoyable evening.

Softball players Maddie Malfara, Alexa Cervella and Alexa Anderson served dinner to homeless families.  The program was coordinated by Family Promise of Delaware County, which provides assistance to families in need.

The Nittany Lion pitched in to sew colorful pillowcases for the Case for Smiles program.  The pillowcases will be given to patients at the Penn State Children’s Hospital.

Happy 50th Brandywine

Penn State Brandywine celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first day of classes on Sept. 25 with cakes featuring historical photos, ice cream and apple pie.  The campus property had been both a dairy farm and apple orchard in the past. Chancellor Kristin Woolever (center) and the Nittany Lion were joined at the celebration by four members of the campus community who share Brandywine’s Sept. 25 birthday:  Head Softball Coach Mark Caserta, sophomore Brian Reynolds, freshman Brandon Welden and part-time instructor Thomas “Max” Guerin.
