A Special Message from Our Chancellor

November 2020

Dear Penn State Brandywine,

Once again in this issue of Lion Bytes, we are proud to share stories of our faculty and our students. Stories of how we are One Community Impacting Many.

You will read about Dr. Margaret “Peggy” Signorella, Distinguished Professor, who recently received a prestigious national award for her impact over many years. Issues where Peggy’s expertise in her discipline combined with her tenacity have had impact include torture, disability, and gender.

You will also read about our 2020 Nature Narratives Writing Contest.  This innovative contest is one of Penn State Brandywine’s signature events, showcasing the power of community and educational partnerships and the intersections between nature, writing, technology, history, and adventure to uplift the promise of our people and our planet.

As you will read in these articles and others, at Penn State Brandywine we are continuing to fulfill our land-grant mission of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to our community and the world, even in some of the most challenging times in our history.

We Are Penn State Brandywine!

Marilyn J. Wells, Ph.D.
