American Studies Minor

This interdisciplinary minor is for students who want to complement their major program with perspectives on American culture and society.

Students of Education or Human Development and Family Studies will find a context for future work in a deeper understanding of American culture. English or Communication Arts and Sciences majors will gain new disciplinary perspectives on their central subjects. An internship might draw the major and minor together in a single workplace experience.

Since courses for the minor double-count with courses for the major and General Education, often students find they need few additional credits to complete this minor. Only courses with grades of C or above will count for the minor.
