The Penn State Brandywine Values Awards

Values Award: Integrity

This award will recognize a faculty or staff who has consistently acted with “integrity in accordance with the highest academic, professional, and ethical standards.” 

Values Award: Respect

This award will recognize a faculty or staff who has continuously been one to “respect and honor the dignity of each person, embrace civil discourse, and foster a diverse, inclusive, and safe community.”

Values Award: Responsibility

This award will recognize a faculty or staff who has upheld the principle to “act responsibly and hold ourselves accountable for our decisions, actions, and their consequences”.

Values Award: Discovery

This award will recognize a faculty or staff who has, through advanced research and scholarship, sought and created new knowledge and understanding, and fostered creativity and innovation for society’s benefit.

Values Award: Excellence

This award will recognize a faculty or staff who has strived for a standard of excellence in all endeavors, as an individual and for the campus.

Values Award: Community

This award will recognize a faculty or staff on our campus who has demonstrated the ability to “work together for the betterment” of our campus, “the communities we serve, and the world."


Each award recipient will receive a framed certificate, $400 (either set in an account for professional development, to be utilized by April 1, 2021, with concurrence from their director or as additional compensation), and their name on a plaque of Penn State Brandywine Values Award Recipients displayed on campus.

The Nomination & Selection Process

Please fill out and submit the nomination form.

You may submit nominations until March 24, 2020.

Each nomination must include the name of the nominee and a statement indicating how the nominee’s performance or leadership or participation in a particular endeavor exemplified the category this past year. In making your nominations, please consider the rich diversity of our faculty and staff.
A selection committee comprised of representatives of past award recipients, one staff, one faculty, one student, and one administrator will review nominations and make recommendations to the Chancellor.
