We Penn Staters are proud of our traditions and one of the most well-known and beloved is our “Nittany Lion". Therefore, we have launched the Lion Project as part
of Penn State
Brandywine’s
40th Anniversary celebration. We invited both seasoned artists and occasional dabblers to join in the fun by either painting or sponsoring a lion.

Over 100 lions were painted and 44 were auctioned at our 40th Anniversary Gala, Saturday, May 10, 2008.  All proceeds benefit student scholarships at Penn State Brandywine.

The lions are heavy white resin and about 3 ½’ by 2’ and weighing about 15 pounds – not as large as the famous original, but just perfect for a Penn State garden or business establishment. There are still some lions available for purchase. Click here to view them.
